XPS densities

I have been researching a bit on XPS densities.I thought XPS was all the same but it varies quite a bit ,like EPS.
I think the main difference is different (higher) compression resistance requirements for building in EU.


European XPS:
Danopren is 33 kg/m3=2.06 lbs/ft3 (Soprema is the same)
URSA is 30 kg/m3=1.87 lbs/ft3

US XPS:
Foamular 250 is 24.8 kg/m3=1.55 lbs/ft3
Foamular 150 is 20.8 kg/m3=1.3 lbs/ft3

Mexico XPS:
Foamular 250 is 27 kg/m3=1.68 lbs/ft3

I wish i could get my paws on some US Foamular but no luck so far.Here in Spain I can only buy the blue Danopren stuff in single sheets, URSA is a bit lighter but only sold in full packs of 10 that i can find.

So a 100ltr shaped blank would weigh:

-3.3kg=7.27lbs in Danopren
-2.48kg=5.46lbs in US Foamular250
-2.1kg=4.58lbs in US Foamular150.

Although i don't know if Foamular 150 is strong enough for boardbuilding.

FYI - I went into home depot and weighed the pink panther sheets and they didn't' match the spec sheet.  Beasho has done the same with the grey dow xps and found weights vary...

My Danopren XPS has been mostly on target, maybe a bit lighter sometimes (32kg instead od published 33kg/m2).
I think DWF has said that EPS  ould be inconsistent too.
How much variation did you find in the pink XPS?.Is it the Foamular?.

I just got a sheet of foamular 250 from home depot and the density is about 1.79 lbs/ft3.  So it a bit more than the advertised 1.55lbs/ft3. That means my 100L board will be 0.89lb heavier than advertised weight. Hope that also means the compression strength is higher than spec.
