Svein Rassmussen told me last week at the Starboard Dealer conference that GONG had gone BK, or whatever the french people use for chapter 11.  No word as to whether or not they would reorg, but it didn't sound good. Anyone know the details? I'm going to miss their videos.
Foote 10'4X34", SIC 17.5 V1 hollow and an EPS one in Hood River. Foote 9'0" x 31", L41 8'8", 18' Speedboard, etc. etc.

That sucks if true. Surprising too, seems like they had some good things going.

Well...   Let's just say this.    From a few reliable sources I found out Gong got hooked up with a BS manufacturer that took advantage of Gong and all the supporters of Gong.   Details are a, "Depends who you ask" kinda thing but the way it sounds, they got shafted in a big way.     Maybe a rep from Gong can chime in and tell their side...    IMO, Gong and their investors/distributors got completely ripped off but that's just from what details I heard.

I'll share something else...   This industry is full of rip off types.   BEWARE!    From the little guys who are pushing a bunch of BS to get your money or product to big time swindlers that can bury a business...     They are everywhere and closer than you think. ::)

I had correspondance with GONG for a couple of weeks recently and then they just disappeared... kinda like the mother ship arrived and zapped them away.
Did speak with a few family members in the EU and Blaine nailed it... they got hosed and from what I understand the overseas person(s) took the money and ran.  Dont know much, but GONG got the short stick.  I have not the foggiest idea, nor do any others on what happened, but it is time to throw out a life preserver for our European counterparts.  Something must of went really wrong.  The up and comer greed heads are there looking for the ABC's of industry raping (reference Wall street).

Wow thought they were a bunch of psycho's that were stoked on SUP.

Gong SUP began with an agressive commercial politic (dixit L'Ours) selling cheap and solid board. Gong's wellknown now, Gong's not dead. At least they may product from China like many industries...

I thought that they were locally made??  I remember speaking to them/him at the Surf Expo in late 2005 or early 2006, and I thought that was the story.

I've been heard the oversea industry that was working for Gong is still producing SUP boards under a new trademark:
