Big Mahalo to all Zoners for your input whether "nice" or "harsh", I will not take anything personally, and besides, you're not the one funding the R&D!

Many of you have made some quality observations/analysis/feedback.  I liked pdxmike's analogy to brainstorming (and the comment on what kayakers thought about SUP when it first came out).

I made a deliberate attempt to "think outside of the box" because there seemed to be little innovation in the SUP world; the stand up paddle board boils down to an oversized surfboard in a variety of shapes and sizes (it's starting to get boring and needs some buz).  I am working on a design that will enhance the combined speed/stability/maneuverability of a SUP while adding the benefits of sailing and motoring it as an option.

You never know what a new creation can do until you get it out into the hands of creative and adventurous people.  When the sailboard was first invented, no one imagined people surfing Jaws with it!  Let's see what happens with the SUPO (it has a long way to evolve).

As I mentioned in my previous post, I learned a lot from the first prototype; so much so that I had to file an additional patent application.  I can't share anything right now but once I get confirmation from the USPTO I will share with you the new design.  SUPO 2.0 will be much closer to a "final" product.  The next step is to build it.  This should be a lot faster and easier than the first one now that I know how.

P.S. to blackeye: I did approach Hobie with this thinking that they would be the perfect match, however, Mark Johnson, the head of their SUP division said, "At this time we are so slammed with our existing SUP business I could not see devoting the man power or the resources that it would take to produce, market and sell this new product".

P.S.S. If anyone would like to correspond with me in private, my email is aquarealm@gmail.com
