Cool article on Eddie Vedder doing standup in the Pugot Sound  on page 6 & 7.

Over all pretty cool article

Nice to see us Puget Sound SUPers have a celebrity spokesman  :)  Hiking on the water, that's how it feels to me too.

I downloaded Eddie's ukulele album - didn't grab me on the first listen but seems like the kind of recording that grows on you.

I have the same thoughts on the ukulele album. First couple listens I wasn't too sure. The cover songs I like, but the others are growing on me... And making me think about getting a ukulele! I'll check out the solo tour if he does it. The last one was great.

Cool to hear that he's out there paddling.

AirJunky

Pretty funny.... "the kind of songs that Darla sang Alfafa"?? Thats a riot.
Always liked his homage to The Who. I can't even remember how many of those MP3s I have by now. I'll have to give the new album a listen.

Only a couple comments about him listening to his waterproof Ipod while he paddles for a couple hrs in the Sound. Guess he's been surfin waves for years though. Cool comments about surfin with Laird, MR & Kelly.

CT- go grab a ukulele, you'll be happy you did! I just picked one up a couple weeks ago after having never played an instrument before and am pretty addicted. A lot less tv for me these days after dinner.

I'm pretty stoked on the new album. Kind of gives me an idea of what directions you can go with one as it's not what I'm used to hearing. And yeah, I also thought the hiking on water comment was cool.

Inspiring. I was never a big fan of his music until this record. I love the raw simplicity of it.

Here's a new Eddie Vedder video with SUP (at the end).

Ukelele's are nothing but fun, if you're in Maui drop by Mele Ukelele in Wailuku. Great place, great Ukes. I have several from them. There's a wonderful old guy there named Peter who can teach you more Uke in a few minutes than you'll pick up by yourself in a month.

A couple of years ago I was at Kanaha after a surf session, sitting on my bumper playing my UKE. I was learning "Little Surfer Girl". Two staggeringly beautiful french girls came over and sat on the bumper next to me. One said "We Laaave ze ukelele".

Who knew?
Foote 10'4X34", SIC 17.5 V1 hollow and an EPS one in Hood River. Foote 9'0" x 31", L41 8'8", 18' Speedboard, etc. etc.

They probably thought you were Eddie Van Halen. I won't ask what happen next,,, what happens in Kanaha,,, stays in Kanaha.  ;)

Ever see the documentary with Eddie and Laird?  They r good buds and you can watch a documentary on them doing what they do...think its on YouTube...Iconoclasts...def worth the watch.  Interesting dynamic if personalities and lifestyles and both very driven dudes.

I cannot express my love of all things Eddie Vedder.  ;D I knew he  was big into SUP and surfing, which is just reason #458 that he is all kinds of awesome.

AirJunky you mention his homage to The Who. It's just my personal opinion of course, but I much prefer Pearl Jam's Baba O'Riley, Eddie just nails it and adds to it!

Speaking of uk's, who says you can't take it with you?
A couple of pics 'borrowed' from GP and his site Maui Surf Report.
Not Eddie.

It takes a quiver to do that.
