Wanda Fuca Downwind Paddle Race - June 12th - WA State
« on: April 10, 2010, 01:30:04 AM »
Where: Strait of Juan de Fuca, Wa State
When: June 12, 2010
Site: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=115036481844554&ref=mf

This is going to be sweeeet!

Surfskis, outriggers, kayaks, SUPs, any human-powered craft, you're all invited to the inaugural de Fuca Downwind race from Freshwater Bay 13.5 miles on a downwind run around Ediz Hook and into Port Angeles Harbor, finishing at Hollywood Beach in front of the Red Lion hotel.

$40 entry fee will include tee shirt, snacks after the race, and best of all, a BBQ at your host Olympic Raft & Kayak the night before the event.

Race registration begins at OR&K's annual Kayak Symposium on April 16-18, and will be available on the OR&K web site http://www.raftandkayak.com/ beginning on April 20th.

Mucho kudos to Gabe Newton who did the detailed research of prevailing winds during each month of the year and promises us a nice fun, fast tailwind in June.

Quite a name. Sounds like a, umm, professional person. But I'm sure she's very nice.
Foote 10'4X34", SIC 17.5 V1 hollow and an EPS one in Hood River. Foote 9'0" x 31", L41 8'8", 18' Speedboard, etc. etc.
